Four in Hand knot

When starting to tie necktie knot, always have the wide end on your right. Remember that the images are your mirror.


Situate the necktie around your neckline such that the point where the necktie starts to widen is an inch or two below your top button.


Holding the thin end of the necktie in a steady position, cross the wide end over to the point where the necktie starts to widen.


Next, again holding the thin end of the necktie in a steady position, cross the wide end underneath.



Cross the wide end of the necktie back over top of the thin end, again holding the thin end of the necktie in a steady position.


Then, pass the wide end of the necktie back under, but now up through the loop made around your neckline with the necktie.


When tying neckties, make sure you pass the wide end of the necktie all the way through the loop and back over the front of the knot you've made in the thin end of the necktie.



Now, using your fingers to loosen the knot, pass the wide end of the necktie all the way through the last loop of the knot you've just made



Now, holding the thin end of the necktie in a steady position, gently tug on the wide end, until the knot in your necktie becomes relatively tight.


Now, holding the knot in a steady position, gently tug on the thin end of the necktie until the knot rests comfortably against your neckline

Fold down your collar over top of the loop you've made in the necktie. Adjust the knot unitl it is in proper position, and fold the thin end of the necktie through the "sewn on loop" on the back of the wide end of the necktie.

Straighten necktie and add tie clip if desired.
